Portland Bike Tours and Rentals was founded in 2007 by Evan Ross, a North West native. After taking bike tours in several countries while traveling around the world Evan was inspired when he moved to Portland and found no one was providing this service. With a degree in Outdoor Leadership and Education, and a passion for cycling, Evan built the company up from scratch, piece by piece. It all started with two matching “Free Spirit” bikes he scored from a garage sale, fixed up, and used to show people the time of their life. Now Portland Bike Tours has provided thousands of Bike Tours and Rentals, and continues to help people experience Portland by bike every day.
Keegan Burns rides his bikes as a way to appreciate all that Oregon has to offer–both city and countryside. He was drawn to Portland to study Chinese history and poetry at Reed College and fell in love with the livability of the city and its fantastic coffeeshop culture. Keegan is constantly looking for ways to incorporate a bike in all of his off-road adventures and daily excursions. Ask him about his top 5 favorite S24HO (sub 24 hour overnight) rides around the Northwest–an awesome way to get out into the wilds without a car. Look for Keegan unwinding in a quiet corner of the Belmont library when he isn’t giving tours of Stumptown’s city streets and breweries.
Melissa is an abstract illustrator, photographer, mom and avid cyclist. She counts living in Portland and riding her bike every day with her family as her favorite things. Teaching her ten year-old son to ride in the city has been a fun adventure. She is happy that he has gotten an early start loving cycling and can’t wait for him to start his racing career. She can be seen riding with weekly group rides and taking long rides out the Springwater Trail and Marine Drive. She also loves running in historic SE Ladd’s Addition and is a regular practitioner of Bikram Yoga.
