We are involved with lots of Bike Events and Partner to offer Classes and Workshops all year long. Here is a list of some of our events coming up.

Parisian City Bikes @ Jupiter Hotel

WHAT : The Jupiter Hotel and Portland Bicycle Tours are proudly bringing back the drive-in movie – with a uniquely Portland spin.Tour, beer, dinner and a movie! A perfect Sunday evening…

WHEN : Sunday, May 23rd from 5 to 10 PM. The series of Portland-area bike rides followed by a movie in the chic DreamBOX of the hotel begins May 23rd, continues during PedalPalooza 2010 on Father’s Day, June 20th, and again on July 25th!

Get out of the house, enjoy a summer ride in the Pacific Northwest, and cool down afterwards with a movie and a locally crafted Portland beer from Hopworks and food from Mayahuel Catering.

WHERE : Tours start downtown, last 2 hours, and leave you to relax at the Jupiter Hotel’s DreamBOX Theater with a refreshing Hopworks brew in hand. Mayahuel Catering will also be on-site with a tamale bar, drinks and more.

HOW MUCH : Tickets are $15 for the tour, movie, and a beer, or $35 including a Parisian City bike rental. Tours are limited to 50 people, 21+ only.

SCHEDULE :

5 PM – Bikers meet at Portland Bicycle Tours and take off from the shop to go on your 2 hour ride and tour around Portland. Each tour will be matched to the theme of the movie.

7 PM – Arrive at the Jupiter Hotel and grab your beer and food.

7:30 PM – Movie starts in the DreamBOX, where the film will be projected onto our big screen with surround sound. Food and beer will be available throughout the movie.

9:30 PM – Movie ends… time to go home!

Rain Garden Workshop Series:

Rain Gardens 201: A collaborative Learning Technical Field Class.

( Everything you ever wanted to know about rain gardens but were to busy to research!)

Join us by foot (2 classes) or by bike (three classes) to explore variations on the rain garden (incl. bioswales, infiltration basins, green streets, planters).

Understand how the sum of the parts (inlets, outlets, check dams, etc) can be designed, constructed, and maintained to improve our impact the ecological function of the watersheds in which we build them.

Who should attend: beginner to experienced designers, engineers, agency employees, developers, contractors, and others who want to: Be better prepared to make holistic choices. More info and registration @ www.greengirlpdx.com/rg201.htm

PDX Bridge Festival Tours

We are offering three free Portland Bridge History tours in conjunction with the PDX Bridge Festival. One tour each Saturday of the festival (July 24th, 31st, and August 7th ) There will be regular Bridge History tours at the regular price every day at 12 pm during the festival as well. Join us! Bike To Blazers Event

This Event is on April 14th, coming right up! Join us as we bike from Pioneer Courthouse Square up to the Blazers Game at the Rose Garden! This is about active transportation and showing a green initiative. Check out the new covered bike parking at the event and get out of your car. Bike to Farmers Market Event

Farm to Fork by Bike

On September 19, 2010, Portland Farmers Market fans can dig into Portland’s famed food and cycle scene with a guided immersion experience in urban farming and farmers’ markets. Portland Bicycle Tours will lead a group from Eastbank Esplanade to Zenger Farm via the Springwater Corridor. The group will help with Zenger’s harvest, tour the farm, meet the resident chickens and bees, and then head to Lents International Farmer’s Market for a quick visit. After Lents, the group will journey to the King Market via MAX light rail. At King, PFM staff will give a ‘behind the scenes’ market tour before turning the group loose to shop for lunch and picnic in the park adjacent to the market. (One $5 token is included in the class fee to supplement lunch options.)
