Oregon Manifest Book Highlights Bike Design Challenge
ANNOUNCING THE OREGON MANIFEST BOOK!
Experience the energy and excitement of the 2011 Constructor’s Design Challenge in our new book, BIKE CRAFT, DESIGN, INNOVATION. Featuring imagery of each entry bike, the Creative Collaboration bikes, the Oregon Manifest Field Test and interviews with the winners and judges, this little book captures the breadth and spirit of the ground-breaking event in one nicely designed package.
More than a document of the competition, it’s a fantastic survey of what happens when independent craftsmen, designers and students outside of the larger bike industry work to create a better bike for the everyday rider.
We’re deliriously excited to note that one of the Oregon Manifest Creative Collaboration bikes – designed by IDEO and Paul Sadoff of Rock Lobster Bicycles – is going to market. This gorgeously and cleverly designed e-bike is the first Constructor’s Design Challenge rig to go into mass production. Melding future-thinking design and function with a thoroughly classic style, the Faraday Porteur has redefined what an e-bike could and should be. Admire it here.
